Meet Dr. Ashley Carter

Dr. Carter is an award-winning Associate Teaching Professor of Journalism at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

As a journalist, her work is published in a variety of media outlets including Time, Huffington Post and Triathlete. She also worked as a local news reporter for The Denver Post and The Colorado Sun. Her professional interests include sport, identity and lifestyle & culture.

Dr. Carter’s research is published in multiple peer-reviewed journals including Journal of Communication, New Media & Society and Howard Journal of Communication.

She has lived abroad in Spain, enjoys training for middle-distance triathlons and spending time in Colorado’s oxygen-deprived, yet beautiful, Front Range with her camera and pups. Some of her favorite subjects to capture as a photographer are sports, specifically cycling, and travel.
